Maine is a northeastern state home to over 1.3 million residents and known for its beautiful waterways and rugged coastline. Foodies love the seafood cuisine which includes clams and lobster. Due to the smaller population and total area, there is currently only one Maine area code.
Established in 1947, area code 207 covers the entire state (except for Estcourt Station, a village in Aroostook County, which is served by Quebec area code 418 and area code 581). The most populous city in Maine is Portland, and the capital is Augusta. The state’s area code isn’t scheduled to be exhausted until 2024. Maine is known as the Pine Tree state because 83% of its land is forest and it is the least densely populated state east of the Mississippi River. For your convenience, we have developed a visual look at this area code in the form of an infographic which you can share wherever you like!
